ABOUT
Welcome
I am a New York State licensed clinical psychologist specializing in relationship difficulties, identity concerns, mood management, trauma, women's health, and substance misuse. I view the relationship between therapist and client as collaborative. When occurring in a safe, non-judgmental, and warm environment this relationship allows the therapy to be both genuinely exploratory and deeply effective. It is my belief that a successful therapy must honor the whole individual, recognizing social factors, cultural context, racial and ethnic identities, sexual orientation, and familial roles. While I primarily work from a psychodynamic (insight-oriented) approach I also have specialized training in Family Systems Therapy as well as other more structured techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). This allows me to best address a wide range of therapeutic needs increasing functioning and decreasing distress in the short-term in order to better approach long-term gains.
